Sharon Guild-Stitt

I have been a member of DignityUSA since 1996. I first attended Dignity San Antonio on a weekly basis. When my job took me to DC, we attended Dignity NOVA. Since I first learned about DignityUSA, I have supported the mission and values for a more inclusive church financially and by spreading the word through my progressive contacts. I have attended the last 3 bi-annual conferences. At this point in my life, I feel the Holy Spirit leading me to be more active with DignityUSA, to apply my life’s experiences to helping others grow in Dignity, Grace and Pride. The pressure for the Church to be more inclusive and fight for justice has been Dignity’s mission for years; the pressure must continue to be constant. I’d like to be part of that consistency.

I have volunteered for the last 10 years at our local parish with the prayer ministry, St. Vincent de Paul and as a communion minister. Our pastor is very supportive of me and my spouse. I have experience using the following skills that I hope to apply, if selected, to work on the Dignity USA Board: Project Management and oversight, Financial Management and selection of presenters with contracts, Professional speaking skills, Marketing at conferences, exhibit table set up and recruiting membership.
