Submitted by Paula Lavallee Secretary DignityUSA

The DignityUSA Board of Directors met in Minneapolis on the days leading up to the Convention July 2-3 and then after the Convention on July 7th.

The directors spent the first morning discussing the executive director’s report programs and committee reports and other business of the board. The afternoon included an update of the Convention plans given by Marty Grochala Convention Chair. Everything seemed to be in place and ready to go waiting for attendees to arrive.

The rest of the afternoon and on Wednesday morning the directors looked at the action plans that were created for the Strategic Plan at the last meeting in March and had been refined in the months since. The directors focused on what can be accomplished in the next few months to develop and set these goals and action plans into motion. Each director took responsibility of some action point and made a commitment to accomplish it with specific timelines.

Many members arriving early to the Convention dropped in to observe and participate in the meeting.

On Sunday afternoon after the closing ceremonies the board met with the National Convention Committee and the 2013 local committee members. The group discussed the high and low points of the Convention. There were very few lows and a lot of highs to celebrate. The directors and President Lourdes thanked the committees for their outstanding work in making the convention a success. After the Convention committee members were dismissed the Board finished up their business and adjourned.

The next in-person meeting will be Oct. 4-6 in Fort Lauderdale FL.

Anyone having any questions about the meeting may contact secretary@dignityusa.org.
