On Saturday morning October 20 six Dignity/Washington members met for a 40-mile round trip bike ride to Mt. Vernon. For two of our riders it was the longest distance they had ever ridden. The bike path to Mt. Vernon winds down the Potomac River skirting National Airport Old Town Alexandria and various picnic spots right on the riverbank. Adding to the beauty of that Saturday morning were a sunny clear sky and numerous trees dropping colorful autumn leaves. Once at Mt. Vernon the group had lunch at the Mt. Vernon Visitor’s Center cafeteria. All in all it was a day of wonderful people great exercise and yes a few sore muscles! The group hopes to keep on riding as long as our DC weather permits.
