<p><img alt= src=/sites/default/files/images/LectureSeries_0.png style=float:right; height:129px; margin:5px; width:150px />On Saturday October 19 Dignity/Washington hosted its first in a series of free lectures geared toward LGBT audiences. Guest lecturer Hunter O&rsquo;Hanian Museum Director of the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art addressed the question: What Is Gay Art? and answered it with a fascinating visual and explanatory presentation drawn from his museum&rsquo;s vast permanent collection.</p> <p>Also presenting was gay artist Shungaboy who is based in New York City. He discussed the creative process used at the Vitruvian Gallery&rsquo;s erotic male sketch sessions. A display of those sketches will be held October 26 to November 16 2013.</p> <p>The second in Dignity/Washington&rsquo;s lecture series will be held on Sunday November 17 at St. Margaret&rsquo;s Episcopal Church at 3:00 pm. It will feature Danish linguist and theologian K. Renato Lings who will talk about his book Love Lost in Translation:&nbsp; Homosexuality and the Bible. His book presents a fresh approach to translating the Bible as it systematically examines the biblical stories and passages that are generally assumed to deal with or comment on homoerotic relationships. He demonstrates that mistranslations of these texts into Greek Latin and other languages occurred early and that serious errors continue to be committed by translators today. This lecture is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served after the presentation and before the 6:00 pm Dignity Mass.</p> <p>We welcome your attendance!
