Dignity/Northern Virginia (D/NoVA) celebrated its 21st Anniversary on May 11 2013. The celebration included Mass followed by a fun picnic dinner party in the church hall. A silent auction and a 50/50 drawing added to the evening's activities. Daniel Barutta Dignity/Washington's (D/W) president won the 50/50 and generously donated his share back to D/NoVA.

The occasion also provided D/NoVA the opportunity to say thanks and farewell to Fathers Joe Palacios and Tim MacGeorge. Both have been regular presiders at D/NoVA and D/Washington Masses for many years. Both are leaving the area and will be sorely missed.

Following the presentations of Community Service Awards and the President's Award the party concluded with a delicious decorated cake and other desserts. In his closing remarks D/NoVA President Joe Hennessy noted that the D/NoVA community has been an open and welcoming community that survives because the members truly care for one another share their faith and generously contribute to the community. Many thanks to all those who worked on and attended the anniversary party especially Karen Papouleas and Elizabeth Wills who co-chaired the event. Godspeed to Fathers Joe and Tim.
