June 14, 2023 | by Jon Schum | So many details that we would love to know are omitted in Matthew’s account of Jesus’ life, but room is made in today’s passage for the names of each one of the Twelve. Our reflection suggests that this can remind us that Love calls each of us by name as well.

But beyond the Scripture writers’ attempts to use their version of this story to speak to readers of that time, the Ascension of Jesus—whatever its historical reality—carries a timeless message for all believers.
