Catholics in San Antonio Pray that Archdiocese is more Welcoming

Members and supporters of Dignity/San Antonio held a prayer vigil outside the Cathedral Saturday, November 20, in advance of the installation of the new Archbishop. Nearly 100 people gathered to express sadness over the Chapter's expulsion from the parish where they hade been meeting, and to call for dialogue with the incoming Archbishop. A local TV station's coverage demonstrates support from those worshiping inside the Cathedral.

Gay Catholics Strongly Protest Expulsion of Dignity/San Antonio from Parish Home

October 22, 2010-Boston, MA.--DignityUSA, the nation's largest organization of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Catholics and our supporters, is shocked and saddened by the actions of San Antonio Auxiliary Bishop Oscar Cantu, who ordered a local parish to stop hosting a weekly Mass for gay and transgender Catholics and their families. The letter, dated October 13, 2010, ordered the liturgies to end as of October 18, 2010.
