The Give Out Day campaign yielded over $6,500 for DignityUSA. There were 46 donors, including some repeat donors from last year's effort, and 7 new donors. A matching challenge grant of $2,500 was pledged by a long-time DignityUSA member and supporter which certainly helped to motivate others to participate.
"The exceptional results of the Give Out Day campaign, along with the tremendous response to the annual Pride Appeal, continue to affirm that our mission and work is relevant, important, and is making a real difference in the lives of our LGBTQ brothers and sisters,” said Marianne Duddy-Burke, DignityUSA Executive Director. "We are grateful to so many who choose to commit not only with their hearts and talents, but also with their financial support, to continue what we are committed to do every day. And that is to ensure we are effective leaders and advocates, providing support as well as ministry, to those who are marginalized or not respected by our Church and our communities."
Another success factor has been the effective use of social media and web-based tools for providing "in the moment" and compelling messaging and testimonials. Thanks go to Logan Bear, DignityUSA Technical Services Manager, for his creativity and commitment to leveraging technology to help us get our messages out and voices heard.
So what's next as we continue to expand our voice and our commitments? Here's a hint: did you know that in September, the Catholic Church celebrates the feasts of Guardian Angels and Archangels? More to come!
