The Military and Government Counseling Association’s Individual Notable Achievement Award for 2016 went to Dignity/San Antonio member Sharon Guild-Stitt. Sharon became a member and leader of MGCA and its predecessor organization in 1987, serving as its president in 2008.

Sharon spent 24 years in Civil Service, including stints in the Dept. of Justice, Dept. of Veteran Affairs, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Air Force, as well as the Texas Dept. of Human Rights.

As an educator, Sharon was an Adjunct Professor at Palo Alto College in San Antonio, Texas, for 11 years before her time with the government. Most recently she was part-time faculty with Northeast Lakeview College in 2014.
