As we write today's Dateline, three representatives from DignityUSA--Marianne Duddy-Burke, Leo Egashira, and Jeff Stone--are in Munich, Germany, representing DignityUSA at the second assembly for the Global Network of Rainbow Catholics (GNRC). Dignity's represenatives join LGBTQI Catholics from 40 countries on six continents calling for "a single and global voice with our lay Community, the Curia and the Vatican" in regard to LGBTQI issues in our Catholic Church.

It has become a tradition to mark the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (and several days of shopping bargains), as "Giving Tuesday"-- a day to donate to charities and worthy causes. DignityUSA joins in solidarity with people all over the world, marking today, December 1st, as World AIDS Day. We recall the 35 million individuals throughout the world whose lives have been cut short by HIV/AIDS, and we reflect on the people left behind--orphaned children, beloved partners, bereft parents, siblings, family and friends. We renew our commitment to advocate for equal access to effective health care and medications for the 36.7 million people living with HIV infection. We urge people to take advantage of confidential testing and counseling, and to take responsibility to contain the spread of the HIV virus.

Oral arguments in the Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission Supreme Court Case are scheduled to begin on December 5th. The Court's decision on this case--which was launched after a bakery refused to sell a wedding cake to a gay couple--will have important implications for the LGBTQI community and people of faith who value justice and equality.

DignityUSA was one of 15 faith-based and civil rights groups to file an amicus brief in this case, arguing that discrimination (even in the guise of "religious liberity") is wrong.  Please join us in praying and fighting for a just, favorable outcome in the Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission Supreme Court case.
