Families with Dignity Presents the Inspiring Story of Fr.Mychal Judge. Many people are familiar with the name of Fr. Mychal Judge whose courage during the events of September 11, 2001, has become legendary. Salvatore Sapienza was a personal friend of Fr. Mychal Judge and gave testimony to the Vatican's advocate for his sainthood. Salvatore has researched and studied the story of this brave man and will share this story at our next Families with Dignity meeting on Sunday, June 25. Dignity chapter and caucus members are invited to join Families with Dignity at 2:00 pm ET on Sunday, June 25, to hear the story of one of the heroes of 9/11. Contact [email protected] for the zoom link, to be made available the week before the meeting. Want to help out? Families with Dignity Seeks New Leadership. After years of leading a dynamic group of Catholic parents of beloved LGBTQIA+ children in the Detroit area, and transitioning this group to affiliating with DignityUSA, Linda Karle Nelson is ready to hand over the reigns. Linda, we thank you for your passionate and dynamic leadership, for making a tremendous difference for families in Michigan, and for starting the work of transitioning to a national Caucus! You’ve built a solid and broad-based foundation! Now, we are seeking individual(s) who are committed to ensuring that families with LGBTQIA+ members have space and voice within DignityUSA. This can include parents, grandparents, siblings, or other family members of Queer people, or Queer people who are raising or have raised children. If you have questions or ideas about what this could look like, please contact Marianne Duddy-Burke at [email protected]. |
