On Thursday, July 4, 100 Dignity members and leaders joined 60 colleagues from the Global Network of Rainbow Catholics at the Forum on the State of the Global LGBTI Catholic Movement. We heard from ten speakers regarding the justice work being done by their organizations in nearly every part of the world, outlining their accomplishments and greatest challenges. Theologians Miguel Diaz, Mary Hunt and Bryan Massingale spoke to the gathering, providing terrific input on the Gospel mandate for this work. Through shared meals, working groups and liturgy, relationships that can help build bridges across borders were formed. View highlights of each speaker through videos on our facebook page by clicking their linked names above.
Following the Forum, over 325 people attended the Jubliee conference, July 5-7, where they were inspired by rich, moving liturgies and powerful keynote speakers, Mary Hunt and Urvashi Vaid.
Other conference highlights include an engaging membership meeting, the chance to shape DignityUSA’s future through a unique Visioning session which has provided valuable input to the Board, affirming caucus events, and time to reconnect with old friends while welcoming new members.
Mary Hunt’s keynote address, Sunday Liturgy and the 50th Anniversary video can also be viewed by clicking each highlighted link.
