We are writing to let you know that Logan Bear, DignityUSA's longtime Manager of Technology Services, has announced he will be retiring at the end of May. Logan joined our staff on a part-time basis in February 2011, and went full-time a couple years later. He had served as our Website Manager on a volunteer basis prior to joining the staff. Logan was a member of Dignity/New Orleans before moving to Ohio, where he joined Dignity/Columbus. He is also a member of our Defenders Caucus. In addition to managing our website, Logan assisted numerous Chapters in developing, maintaining, and migrating their sites to DignityUSA hosting, Logan managed our database, training staff, Board members, and community leaders in its use, regularly updating it and producing most of the more complex reports. He also recommended hardware and programs to support our work, helped procure many of them, and helped launch all of our social media work. He has built and overseen systems for events registration and production, including multiple conferences and much of our online programming. Over time, he showed us how to migrate many of these responsibilities to other staff or volunteers. In the early days of Covid, Logan helped many community leaders learn how to keep their communities connected via Zoom and other technical tools. He has taught us all his mantra: "Technology should be used to serve DignityUSA's mission." Logan has created a strong technology infrastructure for our work, and has helped guide the evolution of how we deliver on our mission. He leaves a significant legacy and will be missed. If you would like to send Logan a message regarding his DignityUSA service and wishing him well, please do so at Webminister@Dignityusa.org. |
