During our visit with members of Dignity/Chicago earlier this month, the Officers and Board totally shocked me with a public celebration of my 10+ years as DignityUSA's Executive Director. The highlight of the evening was having Vice President Lauren Carpenter announce that they had been collecting messages from many of you, and having her read examples of the notes that had been sent. I want to express heartfelt gratitude to everyone who took the time to send a note or record a video message. Your kind, thoughtful, and generous messages moved me deeply. It was the best way of marking this milestone I could have imagined. It is my tremendous honor and an awesome privilege to serve as DignityUSA's Executive Director. I am grateful every day for the trust you place in me. Lifting up our individual and collective stories, and showing how the Divine shines forth through our lives, is one of the great honors of my life. I hope I continue to serve well, and truly appreciate all of the ways so many support the vitally important mission of DignityUSA. Whether you do so through membership, financial support, volunteer service, prayerful support, or a combination of these, you are making our world and church more inclusive and just. Thank you again for this moving and memorable celebration. |
