This year, the Lenten season seems to be longer; it could be that Lent started at the beginning of February; or due to the erratic weather between extreme warm and cold temperatures; or the months’ presidential primary season in progress. As we fight off distractions, we strive to use our Lenten journey of repentance, prayer, and fasting to prepare for the coming of Easter.
DignityUSA is using this season to continue our mission in many ways, such as supporting Girl Scouts in the St. Louis Archdiocese, advocating for church workers who get fired because they marry the person they love, and speaking out when bishops deny full equality to LGBT Catholics. In March, we are waiting, albeit not with great hope, for Pope Francis’ response to the Synod of the Family.
The DignityUSA Board of Directors look forward to our meeting at the end of February, and look forward to letting the membership know how it went. Nomination of individuals to serve on the Board of Directors is now open. Elections will occur in May.
May you experience a prayerful Lent that lends itself to continued action for LGBT equality!
May you experience the joy of an exalted Easter season!
