Gay Catholic Groups Condemn Pope’s Statements in Africa on Condom Use

Leaders of DignityUSA, New Ways Ministry and Call To Action—three groups that support gay rights in the Catholic Church—spoke out to condemn the Pope’s comments that implied that using condoms could increase the incidents of HIV/AIDS.

"At Long Last": LA Bishop Under Federal Investigation

The LA Times broke the story today that there is a federal grand jury investigation into Cardinal Roger Mahony and his response to the sexual abuse of children by clergy. Call To Action is grateful that the U.S. Attorney in Los Angeles is taking seriously the crimes of this bishop who harbored and transferred pedophile priests, protecting the sexual abusers rather than the children suffering the abuse.

Reflections from a Call To Action Next Gen Retreat

On July 24, 2008, a group of young adults from Call To Action (CTA) landed in New Orleans to spend three days reflecting and rediscovering “home.” This CTA Next Generation retreat entitled, “FINDING HOME IN A BROKEN WORLD: A Retreat on Environmental Racism for Seekers of Spirituality and Justice,” gave each of us a bit of rope to hold onto in the blizzard of apathy, neglect and injustice we find swirling around us today.

The Call To Action National Conference is being held in Milwaukee from November 5-7, 2004. We are able to make use of a group discount rate for DignityUSA members who wish to attend this Conference. If we have 10 or more registrants, the charge will be $145 per person.
