Denver Archdiocese Decision to Expel Children “Deeply Hurtful” Say National Catholic Groups
DignityUSA Leads Coalition in Expressing Grief, Concern Over Ejection of Children From Catholic School Because They Have Lesbian Parents
Boston, MA, March 12, 2010–In a full-page ad set to run in this Sunday’s Denver Post and Boulder Daily Camera, DignityUSA and three other national Catholic organizations committed to equality for gay and lesbian people in the church express concern and grief over a recent decision by the Denver Archdiocese to bar the children of a lesbian couple from reenrolling in the Sacred Heart of Jesus School, a prekindergarten-8 school in Boulder.
The ad reads in part, “It’s hurtful to see the Catholic Church rejecting gay people. But rejecting children because their parents are gay? That hurt can last a lifetime.”
Call To Action, New Ways Ministry and Fortunate Families joined DigintyUSA’s efforts to send a message to Colorado’s Catholic leaders that actions like this do great harm to families and society.

Denver – June 21, 2010 - Toni Talarico was fired by Catholic officials despite a sterling record of 28 years of teaching religion at a Catholic parish in Denver. She was fired because she happens to be a lesbian. And, although Toni was fired in January of this year, the story is now coming to light after months of wrangling over her accrued benefits.
DignityUSA Calls on Catholics to Challenge Vatican Abuse of Power
DignityUSA joined 26 other Catholic organizations around the globe in expressing outrage at the Vatican’s including the “attempted ordination of women” among the “delicta graviora," or most serious of crimes against Church law. This puts ordination of women on par with clergy sex-abuse.

Equally Blessed Protests Denial of Communion to Gay Supporters in Minnesota
October 6, 2010--Equally Blessed stands with Minnesota Catholics who are taking their support for equality into Mass by wearing a rainbow ribbon or pin. About two dozen people who wore these symbols to a Mass recently celebrated by Archbishop John C. Nienstedt were denied Communion by the Archbishop.
