2001 Convention

  • The President nominates and the Board approves Peggy Burns, Secretary; and Joe Sinico, Treasurer.
  • Lifetime Achievement Awards are presented to Sister Jeannine Gramick and Father Robert Nugent, co-founders of New Ways Ministry.
  • House of Delegates approves new bylaws: one person, one vote; the creation of Nominating and Election Committees; replacement of the representative HOD with periodic membership meetings and DignityUSA-sponsored conferences
  • "Dramatic Retelling of the Dignity Story" is an emotional and exceptional multimedia presentation of some of the many accomplishments and significant moments in Dignity's 32-year history. Workshops offer numerous insights into our ministry.
  • Special Donors' Luncheon shows appreciation for the exceptional financial support exhibited by a growing number of members and friends of Dignity who donate $1000 or more annually. It was noted that the number of Donors had nearly tripled since the Boston Convention in 1997.
  • Kevin Calegari Award presented to Mark Matson; the Michael Bushek Award presented to M. A. Ladd.
  • In Chicago, a new record is set with 106 attendees pre-registering for the DignityUSA Las Vegas 2003 Convention.
