• Dignity’s Statement of Position and Purpose is revised to incorporate language from the 1987 "Miami Resolution."
• The Task Force on Sexual Ethics Report: Sexual Ethics: Experience. Growth, Challenge is adopted.
• Dignity receives an award from the Human Rights Campaign Fund for support of the Speak Out Project, in which individuals send pre-authorized messages on gay/lesbian issues to Congress.
• The San Francisco City Hall is the site for a spectacular Opening Ceremony featuring fireworks in the dome.
