Executive Director Steps Down
Washington, DC – Debra Weill has stepped down from the position of DignityUSA executive director effective October 8, 2006, upon mutual agreement with the DignityUSA board of directors, announced Sam Sinnett, president of DignityUSA. “We are grateful for Debbie’s service to DignityUSA and her commitment to the goals of equality and inclusion for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender Catholics in the church and society,” said Sinnett. As the new fiscal year begins, Sinnett reports that the board and executive committee are considering strategic priorities for the organization and staffing options. Operations of the national office of DignityUSA will continue for now with the current staff. DignityUSA is the nation's foremost organization of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Catholics, their families, friends and supporters. Founded in 1969, it is an independent nonprofit organization with members and chapters across the country.DignityUSA works for full inclusion of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people in the life of the Church and Society. www.dignityusa.org
