DignityUSA Calls the Church to “Conversation and Conversion” as the USCCB Meets
He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. (Matthew 11:15) DignityUSA invites you to a day of fasting, prayer, and witness on November 14, 2005, as the U.S. Council of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) begins its meeting in Washington DC. We are especially inviting those who live in and around the DC area to join us for various events surrounding these meetings. We call the Church to “Conversation and Conversion” around issues of its gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender brothers and sisters. As members of the Body of Christ we come to share our lives, hopes, dreams, and sorrows with our Bishops, so they and the entire Church might come to a conversion of the mind and heart. What can you or your Chapter do? When we speak they will hear. When they hear, we cannot be invisible. For information regarding any of these events/actions please contact: Patty Hayes,phayeser1@yahoo.com.
Vision Statement
DignityUSA envisions and works for a time when Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Catholics are affirmed and experience dignity through the integration of their spirituality with their sexuality, and as beloved persons of God participate fully in all aspects of life within the Church and Society.
