Couples' Ministry Task Force

At the 1995 DignityUSA House of Delegates meeting in Los Angeles representatives from our Chapters authorized the establishment of a Couples Ministry Task Force to assess the needs of our members and Chapters and develop guidelines for a Couples Ministry throughout Dignity. Through the Task Force's research, it became clear that there was a groundswell of support for such a ministry, and a need for resources about how to conduct it. Defenders of Dignity

The Defenders is a club for individuals who value and wish to celebrate both their leather "lifestyle" and their Christian spirituality. Contrary to common belief, the two are not mutually exclusive. The Defenders believe that the leather experience can, when integrated and spiritually informed, actually produce a richer spirituality for us, and for the Church. We strive to provide a space that leathermen and leatherwomen will find welcoming and familiar, yet unique in its spiritual dimension. More…

National Committee on Worship and Liturgy

DignityUSA's National Committee on Worship and Liturgy provides liturgical information, resources, training, and opportunities to nourish, sustain, and empower the spiritual lives of those in Dignity faith communities. Dignity is a spirit filled community recognized for outstanding quality liturgies that nourish and sustain its members to live the Gospel admonition to feed the hungry, comfort the afflicted, clothe the naked, visit the prisoner, support the grieving and lonely. Worship is varied and cutting edge providing an environment for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender members, their family and friends to grow in Christ Jesus and give witness to other Catholics, Christians, and people from other faiths. Solidarity Sunday™

Solidarity Sunday — held every year on the Sunday before October 11 (National Coming Out Day) — is a faith-based anti-violence initiative. Because we understood that, contrary to popular belief, most Catholics are appalled by anti-gay attacks, DignityUSA initiated Solidarity Sunday in 1995 as a way of making our opposition to anti-gay violence visible. It is a very simple program. People are asked to do the following:

Order ribbons and prayer cards and hand them out at your church, workplace and social settings.

Wear your Solidarity Sunday ribbon at all times.

Pray for an end to anti-gay violence

Educate your children, your faith community, your colleagues, your friends about the need to stop violence against all people, especially gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.

Take the Solidarity pledge.
