DignityUSA Seeks Executive Director
DignityUSA, the premier national organization for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered (GLBT) Catholics and allies, seeks an experienced, innovative Executive Director.
Responsible for results-oriented management with a primary emphasis on programming, fundraising and public visibility
Executive director will implement policies of the DignityUSA Board of Directors, supervise staff and activities of national office, and represent DignityUSA on the national level to allied organizations and in the media.
Requirements:
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Proven fundraising track record
- 3-5 years' experience in general management of a membership and/or nonprofit organization including experience in managing personnel, membership development, financial records and resource development and marketing/public relations. In previous position, candidate needs to have interacted significantly with top level of management (Executive Director, Board of Directors, CEO, CFO, etc.)
- Strong record of ability to form and maintain constructive working relationships with other groups and leaders, as well as ability to work in coalition on selected projects.
- Demonstrated understanding of U.S. Roman Catholic Church culture, hierarchy, structure, social teachings and theology, specifically but not exclusively with regard to GLBT issues.
- Demonstrated understanding of GLBT social, cultural and policy issues
- Required Education: 4 year degree strongly preferred or significant relevant work experience
- Required Travel: 25%
Location: Washington, D.C.
