Body, Spirit, Church: Developing a New Integration
Tom Fox will present a Spirit-filled vision of body, church and community.  He argues a new lay theology is being developed and maintains that the pain and prejudice the GLBT community routinely absorbs can, in fact, be a means of further transformation and liberation.  To see the future, he says, look to the margins. That's where ideas come from and that's where Jesus felt most comfortable.

Documentary & Discussion
Same-sex marriage evokes passionate feelings from with the Vatican, to LGBT communities, families and local churches. The Irish Television documentary AN IRISH WEDDING (starring many Dignity/NY members) profiles the May, 2003 wedding of Brendan & Tom.  Following the screening through theological reflection and dialogue, Brendan Fay will explore the gift and challenge of same-sex-marriage for the Christian community.

Beyond The Da Vinci Code: Reconciliation of the Sacred Masculine and the Sacred Feminine.
What do old Catholic cathedrals tell us about the sacred masculine and the sacred feminine? What does Saint Paul mean when he says, "in Christ there is no male or female?" What is Christ consciousness?  This workshop, let by psychologist Dr. Thomas Legere, will introduce us to esoteric truths only alluded to in The Da Vinci Code.

INTERFAITH WORKSHOP
Workshop leader Ric Ben-Safid and his partner Bill are members of both DignityUSA and Beth Ahavah — Philadelphia’s GLBT synagogue. Ric will be putting together his thoughts and his personal experiences on interfaith relations.

LET’S WATCH TV!
Remember “fairy jokes” on TV?  Uncle Miltie in a dress? Media historian Steven Capsuto brings you the history of queer images in American television, interspersing a well-researched lecture with 50 minutes of video clips.

SHOWER OF STOLES
Martha Juillerat, co-founder and current director of this project, will bring us a display of stoles belonging to persons ejected from ministry because of being GLBT, including many Roman Catholic clergy and religious.

TRANSGENDER WORKSHOP
Karen Loran, a transgender activist from Seattle, WA, will discuss issues involving the “T” part
of our GLBT community

GAY CATHOLIC AUTOBIOGRAPHIES AS SACRED TEXTS
This workshop, by Dignity/Phila. member Dugan McGinley, offers a way of reading and understanding gay life stories as sources of revelation. The encounter between the reader and
the author of a gay Catholic autobiography can be sacramental and can lead to Church/GLBT reconciliation.

WHEN CIVIL MARRIAGE COMES CALLING
Subtitled “The Massachusetts Experience” this workshop calls the freedom to marry a basic right at the heart of both the human experience and democratic institutions. Dignity/Boston members Becky Duddy-Burke, Alice Knowles, Michael Sullivan and others will be on hand to share their personal experiences.

ESTATE PLANNING
Do you have a will? Power of Attorney? Dignity/San Francisco member and attorney Mario Torrigino thinks you should, and will talk to all of us about the necessity of GLBT people to have proper estate planning done.

A JOURNEY WITH JOHN MCNEILL
Watch the life of John McNeill play out before your eyes as you watch this fascinating documentary by Brendan Fay. Long-time DignityUSA activist and Dignity/New York member John McNeil will be there to discuss the film and take questions.

GAY, YOUNG, IN LOVE AND SPIRIT-FILLED
After watching them perform on Thursday night, sit and talk with this singing duo on how they make their relationship work. Jason and deMarco will hold a discussion group on being young and spirit-filled in today’s world.

FORTUNATE FAMILIES
Casey and Mary Ellen Lopata wrote the book “Fortunate Families: Catholic Parents with Lesbian Daughters and Gay Sons.” They will be discussing resource manuals for compassionate ministry to GLBT persons as outlined in their book.

MINISTRY WITH GLBTQ YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS
From coming out to fitting in, religion and spirituality can be a blessing or a curse. This workshop, by J. Montoya, DignityUSA Board member, will share ministry strategies and experiences working with youth and college-age young adults within the context of Catholic institutions.

FAITHFUL DISSENTING
Bob McClory, one of the founders of CTA, will be speaking on his book Faithful Dissenters, which traces the impact that many prominent dissenters have had on the Church.

REACHING OUT TO YOUNG ADULTS
This workshop will provide an opportunity for sharing of successful techniques for reaching out to the post-Vatican II generations in creating a renewed progressive Catholic community. Lessons learned from Call To Action’s Next Generation program, as well as time for conversation, exchanging of ideas, brainstorming, and questions will be presented by Claire Noonan.

HAVING A BABY CHANGES EVERYTHING
This interactive session for parents and those considering becoming parents will discuss real-life implications of parenthood for GLBT people — the challenges as well as the joys — with Boston Chapter members Becky and Marianne Duddy-Burke. From the decision-making around whether and how to become parents to day-to-day schedule negotiations, we’ll cover what interests session participants. Becky and Marianne encourage other parents to share their experiences and nonparents to bring the questions you don’t know where else to ask. Children welcome!

WHERE DID THAT COME FROM?- EXPLORING YOUR FAMILY GENOGRAM
This interactive session for new couples will help you explore your strengths and weaknesses as a couple by using a well-respected assessment tool from the marital family field, the genogram. Reverend Truman T. Brooks is an ordained pastor, a licensed marital and family therapist, and a graduate of the Council for Relationships in Philadelphia.

ADDICTIONS
Freedom from addictions can be a real truth for someone. Join Julie Phillips in this workshop/discussion on addictions to learn more.

A STORY OF TRUTH
Rev. Phil Hart, Executive Director of Sanctorum in Columbus Ohio — a group addressing the spiritual needs of the GLBT community and their families, and the first Methodist Minister defrocked for coming out will tell his story of his pain in accepting his orientation as an adult and the unimaginable joy of coming out of the closet and finding divine purpose of being created exactly the way we were all meant to be.

HOW TO NETWORK WITH OTHER LIBERAL CATHOLICS
Join members of COR (Catholics Organized for Renewal) to discuss ideas on “How to Network with other Liberal Catholics” to build unity and strength in today’s environment. Presented by local Philadelphia members of COR.

Plus
A SPECIAL CONVERSATION WITH JEANNINE GRAMICK
The documentary “In Good Conscience: Sister Jeannine Gramick’s Journey of Faith” will be shown with a discussion afterward. Sister Jeannine is a long-time human-rights activist and one of the founders of the Dignity/Philadelphia chapter.
