DignityUSA 2005 Keynote Speaker:

Chrissy Gephardt

On the forefront of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender politics, Chrissy Gephardt came out in the 2004 presidential democratic primary as the openly lesbian daughter of Congressman Dick Gephardt. The first openly gay family member of a presidential candidate in history, Gephardt is an accomplished spokeswoman for GLBT issue and gave issues of equal rights and social justice a prominent place in the 2004 campaign. Gephardt reaches out to students in high school, colleges and universities to encourage active participation at the polls and relates current political issues to the lives of young people.

Special Guest Homilist:

Bishop V. Gene Robinson

The Rev. Canon V. Gene Robinson, Canon to the Ordinary for the Episcopal Diocese of New Hampshire, made headlines around the world when he became the first openly gay — and partnered — Bishop in the Episcopal Church.

Since 1973, Bishop Robinson has been working in many aspects of his church: “clergy wellness” conferences, AIDS education, youth ministries, anti-racism training, as well as working for access to health care for the uninsured. He is currently Executive Secretary of the Episcopal Province of New England and on the Board of Trustees of the General Theological Seminary. More information…

Special Musical Guest:

Jason and deMarco

Jason and deMarco’s music redefines what many think of as pop music. There’s a tangible difference. They have an ability to somehow touch everyone with their music, reaching across normal stylistic and spiritual boundaries. Jason and deMarco’s passion for their purpose and refreshing exuberance toward their craft create a high-impact music experience that will surely make a difference in the lives of all who experience it. They are excited about the path before them and they invite you to join them on this journey! More information…
