DignityUSA is pleased to announce that Jim Smith has been promoted to the position of Associate Director, effective December 1, 2013. In this role, Jim will assume responsibilities for internal management, as well as take on more communication and fundraising duties. In addition, Jim will continue to work with the Transgender and Young Adult Caucuses and the Convention Committee, and will represent DignityUSA in some of our key coalition meetings. He is also excited to work on many of the justice initiatives undertaken at the national and chapter levels. Marianne Duddy-Burke noted that “Jim has brought tremendous experience and new ideas to DignityUSA and we are glad to be able to utilize his skills and talents in new ways.”
Jim said, “I'm excited to deepen my commitment to DUSA in this new phase.” In one of his first new activities, Jim will be presenting at the 2014 Creating Change conference in Houston later in January, along with young adult leaders Tierra Ortiz and Patrick Gordon.
Please congratulate Jim on his new role. He can now be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
