Nominations for DignityUSA’s National Board of Directors are now open. The April 1, 2013 nomination due date is weeks away. However, just like Easter and spring, it will be here before you know it, presenting you with an opportunity to become a candidate to serve DignityUSA on the National Board.
If you are contemplating becoming more involved in the governance of the organization at the national level, please give serious thought to running for DignityUSA’s Board of Directors. This election cycle, the membership of DignityUSA will elect a President and Vice President (running together as a gender-parity slate) and three Directors-at-Large. Officers and directors serve a two-year term.
Leading DignityUSA will tap your passion for justice, challenge you to think broadly and strategically about guiding a national advocacy organization, and reward you with a deep sense of satisfaction that the mission of DignityUSA is being pursued energetically, creatively, and effectively every day. In exchange, you will dedicate your time, treasure, labor, expertise, and most likely, part of your prayers.
For information on the responsibilities of these roles, the commitment and skills needed, and becoming a candidate, please see “Serving on the DignityUSA Board,” and “Serving as President or Vice President of DignityUSA,” You can also use the Nomination Form available online.
Please consider if this is how you will share your gifts with DignityUSA, the LGBT community, and the community at large.
