Second Annual Baccalaureate Mass Held at Dignity/Washington

By Henry Huot, Dignity/Washington Board member

On Sunday May 12, Dignity/Washington celebrated Mass to acknowledge the Ascension of Our Lord, Mother’s Day, and all young adults nearing the end of their academic year. Advance notice to the community had been given for all to come wearing their school colors and/or emblems, and many did. A special blessing was imparted at the end of the liturgy to all students for their continued advancement in knowledge and/or work in the months and years ahead.

Presiding over the Mass was Father Tim MacGeorge, a long-time presider at Dignity/Washington who is now moving to Florida. Since arriving from Boston more than fifteen years ago, he has served Dignity/Washington through his thoughtful homilies, spiritually insightful blogs, social media skills, frequent participation in the communal anointing of the sick, and group facilitation of several workshops, most recently on dealing with bereavement and the suicide of loved ones. We wish him grace and peace as he transitions to a new chapter in his life.
