Dignity/Indianapolis announced its support for amending Indiana law to ex- pand civil rights protections on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity, in anticipa- tion of the upcoming 2016 state legislative session. “Inspired by our Catholic tradition, our members accept the Gospel call to strive against social and economic inequality. As citizens, we recognize a civic responsibility to support laws that safeguard the rights of all people, including the LGBTQ community,” said Steve Follis, president of Dignity/Indianapolis.
In a special way, Dignity/Indianapolis makes known its support for transgender Hoosiers and expresses hope that the Indiana General Assembly will give renewed consideration to the welfare of transgender citizens this coming year. A full statement was released on Dignity/Indianapolis' website.
