Dignity Young Adult Caucus Update

DYAC is getting a jumpstart with new leadership and enthusiasm post-Convention. Following elections last month, the new co-chairs are Martin Witchger of Dignity/Washington and Larry Lozier of Dignity/New York. Our new secretary is Sam Albano of Dignity/Indianapolis. All three of us are excited to serve and lead the Young Adult Caucus for the next two years.

Our first national conference call occurred on October 21, and we have good momentum toward upcoming projects and ideas. We have finalized a document meant for all Dignity chapters focused on "Best Practices for Young Adult Membership and Engagement" based on our experiences in our respective chapters over the last few years. This will be shared with all chapters soon. We hope Dignity chapters will use this as a resource for those hoping to better engage and serve their young adult members.

We also hope to increase and improve our online resources, including a map of our Dignity chapters, and contact information for young adult leaders in each community. DYAC would also like to partner with the DignityUSA marketing committee to produce short videos of Dignity members explaining why Dignity is special to them.

We are beginning plans for a national gathering/retreat for Dignity Young Adults next summer 2014 (the off-year of the convention) to foster ongoing fellowship, planning, and relationship-building.

All three of us are happy to be a resource to anyone in Dignity, so please don't hesitate to contact us!
