Convention 2009 Committee Meets

The San Francisco Convention Committee met with Tom Streeper of the DignityUSA Board of Directors in San Francisco, on the weekend of January 9, 2009. Tom attended the Convention Liturgy Committee meeting on Saturday the 10th, as well as the Core Committee meeting on Sunday the 11th, before attending the Chapter’s Sunday Liturgy. “The Committee is energized and committed to making this the best convention experience and 40th anniversary celebration for DignityUSA,” said Streeper.

“Many events, special guests and surprises are being planned for what is expected to be one of the biggest conventions in DignityUSA’s history. After listening to the ideas for liturgies being planned, I am sure that they will be inspirational, creative and energizing. The Core Committee is also making plans for attendees to have a memorable time with trips to wineries, special entertainment and by creating worship space to welcome all to their great city.”

Convention brochures and registration packages are scheduled to be mailed to all DignityUSA members by mid-February 2009. The packet features information on Keynote Speakers, the current line-up of Workshops, DignityUSA’s Day of Service, travel tips, and making reservations at the convention hotel. Register early to get the best rates! In addition to these printed materials, you will also be able to download extra copies and view updated information online by visiting the DignityUSA webpage www.dignityusa.org and click on Convention 2009 button at top of page.

Tom was impressed by the convention venue: “The beautiful Parc 55 Hotel will be the host hotel for this convention. Our hotel is centrally located in the heart of San Francisco. You can take BART from either San Francisco Airport or Oakland Airport to Powell Street Station and literally walk right into the hotel. Around the corner you will find the world famous cable cars. And for those of you who are shoppers, you can find stores that can meet just about all your needs.”

We look forward to seeing you in San Francisco July 2-5, 2009 (or longer!). Together We Will Reach the Promised Land: Celebrating 40 Years of DignityUSA!
